Seagull Exhibits OMG

Flower girl by Jane SeagullAntigua St. John's - Art At The Ridge’s artist in residence, Jane Seagull, has been creating art since her school days.

She won the Most Promising Artist Award in the 1980s by Winsor & Newton. This year, Jane’s art exhibition is called OMG!! and will feature paintings and papier mache creations.

Seagull has worked in various mediums, including leaded glass, painted furniture, papier mache, and textiles. Since moving to Antigua in 1992, she has settled back into paintings, mainly in acrylics, and her work graces walls all over the world.

As in her past exhibitions, she is donating a percentage of sales to a cause close to her heart.  For OMG!! she has again chosen St John’s Hospice, with 10 percent of sales on the preview evening (includes 5 percent from Art At The Ridge) and 5 percent from March 29 to May 31.

After the preview evenings at Sugar Club, exhibition pieces can be viewed at the shop gallery (just opposite at Art At The Ridge) where you can also find Seagull, usually on Mondays. She also helps to organise and judge the annual children’s Christmas card art competition, and is available to teach art at all levels to adults and children.

Preview Evening: Friday 28 March, 6-8 pm, Sugar Club
