Art in the Quay Showing Planned

Art in the Quay Showing PlannedAntigua St John's - Art lovers will have the chance to view works of art by students from the Antigua State College, as well as photo artwork by Zia and Gemma Hazelwood during the first Art in the Quay show to be held on two Saturdays December 17 and 24 - from 4 to 8 pm in Redcliffe Quay.

This event, sponsored by C&C Winehouse, is an opportunity for visitors to the Quay to see the students' work, get Christmas gift ideas, and help raise funds for the students' art tour of New York in 2012.

A spokesperson for C&C noted that the Art in the Quay show will add a special touch to this historical area, and simultaneously help the students achieve their goal.

"We also feel that the Quay lends itself as an ideal location to showcase such an event and allow persons to see the kind of artwork and art photography that is available here," she said.

"We are really excited about the show and hope to raise a substantial amount of money."

The Art in the Quay show will be displayed along the main entrance and courtyard area of Redcliffe Quay.

Mark Brown, art tutor at the Antigua State College (ASC) added that the students will get the chance to show their work to a larger audience. He thanked C&C for planning this event.

Visitors will have an opportunity to speak to some of the young artists, and donate to their travel fund.
