Liburd Exhibits Expression Movement and Rhythm

Edison Liburd ExhibitionAntigua St John's - Art At The Ridge’s first art exhibition of the year will be a solo show featuring exciting paintings by Antiguan artist Edison Liburd. The exhibition, entitled "Expression, Movement & Rhythm," starts with a preview evening on Thursday January 26 from 6 to 8 at the Sugar Club at Sugar Ridge.

Thereafter, the artwork will be exhibited at Art At The Ridge’s shop gallery in Sugar Ridge Village.

Liburd trained in art at various institutions in the US, including the Atlantic Union College (Massachusetts), Pratt Institute of Technology and the Art Students’ League (both in New York) and Oakwood University (Alabama).

His work captures the vibrant energy and moods of Caribbean life. He works in various mediums, but prefers watercolour.

His style is very fluid, and reflects the uninhibited freedom he enjoys as an artist. Liburd uses nature, people, and music as the main themes in his artwork.

This exhibition will highlight a new era in Liburd’s work, while his signature forms and style continue to shine through.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday: 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm.
