ABIA Invites Green Businesses to ApplyAntigua St. John's - The Antigua & Barbuda Investment Authority (ABIA) has invited entrepreneurs interested in green businesses and technologies to take advantage of the Caribbean Climate Innovation Center’s (CCIC) extended April 20 deadline for grant funding.

The World Bank funded CCIC is currently funding up to US$50,000 to entrepreneurs under their Proof of Concept (POC) Grant Funding Scheme.

The programme is available to entrepreneurs in CARICOM countries with projects or prototypes in five areas: resource use efficiency/recycling, water management, sustainable agriculture, solar energy and energy efficiency.

ABIA Director of Enterprise Development Jacqueline Yearwood stressed that applying for the programme is not only beneficial to the entrepreneur, but to Antigua & Barbuda on a whole.

She said, “This new programme gives our people the opportunity to attain funding to develop sustainable businesses that would positively impact our environment and communities. It not only fosters entrepreneurship, but encourages environmentalism.”

The Authority is dedicated to programmes that foster sustainability and inventiveness. ABIA Executive Director Henderson Fields said, “ABIA partners with organisations that offer opportunities for innovation and enterprise. We want to encourage as many people as possible to apply for this lucrative grant.”

The entire ABIA Board and officers need to be cleaned out to allow real professionals to be employed to take that organisation to its fullest potential! Is it only now they are trying to promote areas that they should have already been working on, to put citizens in a position to capitalize on grants of this nature! A shamefule waste of tax payers money, paying for huge salaries with no results!
