ABIA Encourages Residents to Participates in Initiatives

Dr McChesney Emanuel, Chairman of the ABIA Board of DirectorsAntigua St. John's - Antigua & Barbuda Investment Authority Chairman Dr McChesney Emanuel unveiled plans for the reintroduction of the popular Construct Antigua & Barbuda Initiative (CAB-I) programme and new investors incentives during the organisation’s re-launch yesterday.

In an interview on Observer Radio’s Voice of the People programme, the chairman of the board of directors revealed that phase three of the CAB-I programme is in the works, due to “popular demand”.

“We are getting feedback from the people of Antigua & Barbuda that they wish to have this programme launched again… So we are seriously thinking about re-launching CAB-I," Dr Emanuel said. He stressed that for the economy to turn around and return to pre-recession growth, the nation must focus on strategically growing the housing market. "CAB-I is an important vehicle for that growth."

The ABIA chairman added, “CAB-I has created a stimulus and opportunity for many young homeowners to be able to own their home. Also for those who started their homes years ago to now complete those homes.”

During the interview, a listener lauded ABIA for its CAB-I programme: “I would like to thank the government and the Investment Authority for the CABI programme, from which we benefited significantly when we built our home last year. Our savings would have totalled over $60,000 which allowed us to complete our project.”

Other testimonial can be found on ABIA's new website, www.investantiguabarbuda.org.

Preliminary numbers for CAB-I show that Phase II of the programme garnered 330 approved applications, 72 more than Phase I - a whopping 48 per cent of the approved applications were for new construction, while 41 per cent were for renovations. Thus far, the value of approved applications for Phase II stands at $69,262,649.

Dr Emanuel also encouraged the nation’s residents to take advantage of the recently gazetted Tourism and Business Special Incentives Act.

“This programme offers some special incentives that are much more lucrative than what our packages offered. So it is a good time for people who are thinking about investing to call us up and get to know what we have in the packages for you,” Dr Emanuel said.

Dr Emanuel stressed that the Tourism and Business Special Incentives Act is a “sunset legislation” that will only last for two years.

Mac, you're taking a beating, unlike our day's at AGS and at the wicket on the cricket field, you the lefty and I am batting right hand, came in at no. 6 or no. 7, meeting you after you opened for the team. I enjoyed those days, moments, down to us fielding next to each other in the slips...
Yea Mac, fun days, unlike these whereby your Agency seems to be under some serious attack, like that of an "angry opening, pacer' with the new ball in hand. The ball these days is 'money...' plain and simple.
I haven't had time to fully delve into the intricacies of this ABIA; I've started by visiting the web site. I will do the email correspondence regarding the services been offered.
However, as was stated yesterday, the mention of a re-launch[/u], tells me, that the Agency was somewhat dormant for a while. I hope this is not an election ploy been adopted by the Ruling Arm of the Government. Otherwise, the amount of eggs which will be all over your face, would feed the Nation for a decade. I forgot, the chicken farm idea seems to have been mixed in with the Chinese Legacy, called highway robbery...
Talk to the People, like you promise me and Skye in Miami during the 2013 Independence Celebration. We go you on tape...don't worry, Asot haven't paid up as yet, so you're safe, for now

At what point would you STOP allowing Spencer, Lovell and the other evil corrupt leaders, to make YOU into a parasitic FOOL to promote their nonsensical fiscal poverty designed to kill local businesses and give away millions to foreigners?

When the UPP finish with you, your professional profile will be robbed of ALL GLOBAL BEST PRACTICES and PERSONAL CREDIBILITY.
