Kiwanis Receive Major Book Donation

Kiwanis' Book DonationAntigua St John's - Kiwanis Club of St John’s members got together lastweekend to off-load a 40ft container filled with 35,000 books.

According to a release, most of the books will be donated to schools and institutions, but a small fraction will be available for sale to the public. Proceeds from the book sales will fund ongoing community projects for children in keeping with the Kiwanis' motto, “Serving the Children of the World".

President Noel Browne, and Community Services Chair Hollis Francis, thanked  Children’s Chance Inc for funding this major book project.

Children’s Chance is a non-profit organisation in the USA which raises money to fund a variety of programmes to meet the financial, emotional, and psychological needs of pediatric cancer patient and their families.

It is the only non-profit organisation in the US that assists families solely with non-medical needs such as paying mortgages and electric bills, and providing families with gas, food, and grocery cards.
