EAG Field Trip to Body Ponds Watershed

Body Ponds Nature ParkAntigua St. John's - This Saturday, the EAG’s monthly field trip will take place from Buckleys to the Body Ponds Nature Park and Watershed Area.

The park was developed by the EAG with funding from the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme, and is a watershed area of national importance.

In addition to the field trip, the group will also be conducting trail maintenance. Those who will be attending were asked to bring along a cutlass or any other gardening equipment that would facilitate the clearing of this important trail. Participants were encouraged to bring along sturdy, covered shoes, long pants, drinking water, and a hat.

This field trip will not be suitable for children under the age of 12.

Directions and time:

Coming from St John’s through Buckleys, take the right turn onto the dirt road just before the Buckleys Wesleyan Church. We will be meeting at the pond located about 500 metres along that road. Meeting time will be 6:15 am, moving off by 6:30. For more information, call the EAG office at 462-6236.
