Leo Club Celebrates 41 Years

Leo Club Celebrates 41 YearsAntigua St. John's - The Leo Club of Antigua is marking its 41st anniversary. To commemorate this momentous occasion, a week of activities began on Sunday September 8 and will end on Saturday September 14 with a social at Stingray City.

The members, along with their sponsoring club, the Lions Club of Antigua, celebrated this milestone with a dinner and dance.

Since the club’s organisation in 1972 by the Lions Club of Antigua, its members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, including eye screenings, food package distributions, beach clean-ups, youth jamborees, as well as the refurbishing of the Point public bathroom. The club will be continuing its service activities by visiting the children housed at Holberton Hospital and making a donation of much-needed toiletries to the facility.

According to Leo President Marissa Jackson, “We are proud of our club’s years of service to the community. Leo members thank everyone who contributes to this important work. You are truly helping Leos make a difference in our community.”

The Leo Club of Antigua has 21 members and meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 11 am at the Lions Den. Lion Samantha Malone is the current Leo Club advisor.
