Youth Allegedly Attempted Suicide

Attempted SuicideAntigua St. John's - A New Winthorpes youth is recovering at the Mount St John Medical Center after a failed suicide attempt on Sunday.

Reports reaching Caribarena suggested that the victim ingested a poisonous substance.

The young man, in his late teens, has reportedly had several run-ins with the law.

Last week, a wounding charge against him was thrown out in the High Court. He still has one more matter pending in the court.

According to a source, the teen may have grown frustrated with the inability to secure employment.

It has also been said that the victim's siblings live overseas with their mother, and plans were being made for him to join his family, but as a result of his repeat offences, the process was slowed.

At the time of going to press, the source was unable to provide information on the victim's medical condition.

Petr is that your answer to youths attempting suicide? Choices choices choices? You have got to be a damn gat fool for that one! First off look at the state of Antigua. Look at where it's at from an economic stand point then look at where it's at from a socioeconomic stance. Can you connect the dots? If things don't start to change from within, starting with heads of movement this will inevitably be the norm in Antigua. Social welfares need to be implemented immediately in order to nip weeds in the bud.

With the decisions that this young man has made is going to haunt him for the rest of his life.
It's not difficult to understand that had this person listened to the elders in his family he would not be in this mess that he finds himself in. I don't know where his siblings are but he is going to have a hard time joining them if ever and that is a fact. It's simply stay in school, get an education and stay out of trouble, that is not hard if you understand the mess you are going to be in if you continue to make bad decisions.

I hope that he COMES THROUGH a stronger person when he has completed the healing process. Hold on, don't give up. This too shall pass. I am sending prayers and empathy your way. Hesus loves you.

He needs intervention. Policies needs to be implemented to help troubled youths or any young person in general.
