International Mandela Day Message

Nelson Mandela International DayThis year’s commemoration of Nelson Mandela International Day on July 18 comes at a moment of deep reflection on the life and work of Madiba, as the universally revered leader remains in the hospital.

As we extend our best wishes to President Mandela on his 95th birthday, let us also give tangible meaning to our feelings of concern by taking action on behalf of others.

Nelson Mandela gave 67 years of his life to the struggle for human rights and social justice.  In marking this day, the United Nations is joining the Mandela Foundation in asking people around the world to devote at least 67 minutes of their time today to community service.

The heart of Nelson Mandela International Day is good works for people and the planet. Its theme -- “take action, inspire change” -- is meant to mobilize the human family to do more to build a peaceful, sustainable, and equitable world. This is the best tribute we can pay to an extraordinary man who embodies the highest values of humanity.

At this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Mandela, his family, and with all the people of South Africa. We are united in admiration for a giant of our times.

Notes From A Native Son Of The Rock! Madiba, May Umvelinqangi, Unkulunkulu, Jah, the Creator, Great Spirit, Most Merciful & The Benevolent shower and bathe you with blessings as prayers are offered for your health.

To those Native Daughters & Sons of the Rock who celebrate Mandela's Birthday, may you be infused with his spirit and commitment to Equality, Nation Building, Truth, Justice, Redemption & Reconciliation such that future generations will seek the Innovative Good against Doom with Innovation and Righteousness ever mindful that the People can live out the fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual as expressed in Antigua & Barbuda's Constitution: Quote:
namely-
a. life, liberty, security of the person, the enjoyment of property and the protection of the law;
b. freedom of conscience, of expression (including freedom of the press) and of peaceful assembly and association; and
c. protection for his family life, his personal privacy, the privacy of his home and other property and from deprivation of property without fair compensation
