Gracehill Moravian Church Celebrations Finalé

People of all ages gathered under the TentAntigua St. John's - Last Sunday, a grand service of praise and worship launched the Gracehill Moravian Church Family, Fun, Food and Fellowship Day.

This year, the annual event was planned to culminate the church’s celebration, during the month of June, of its 240th year of existence and service to the community of Liberta, the surrounding environs and beyond.

Over 250 congregants were present at the Sunday morning service which took place under the tents set up at the Pigeon Point Beach. Pastor Adrian Smith’s sermon was entitled, “I won’t let go.”  He encouraged all within the sound of his voice to stay focussed on God’s promises.

Following the service, all were free to partake of a four-course meal. This was followed by an afternoon of relaxation and fun, including a King and Queen of the Beach Contest and a warri competition for women - won by Eunetta James.

Pastor Adrian Smith and the entire congregation thanked the sponsors and contributors for their support – financial, moral and prize offers, for all of the anniversary activities – banquet, service and family, fun, food & fellowship day.

A release said, “The congregation remains thankful to God for its rich history and looks forward to 2014 when it celebrates 50 years at its current location and 100 years since the church partnered with the Government of Antigua & Barbuda to provide primary school education for the children of Liberta Village and surrounding environs at Old Gracehill.”
